Following Jesus. Growing Together.
Loving & Serving others
Our story
Lisburn Cathedral have had a presence in the Hillhall area of Lisburn for many years, most recently “The Lighthouse” which was led by commissioned minister for the area, Billy Moore. A project called Big Church Serve was also run over a number of years.
In September 2021 Lisburn Cathedral planted our church in the south of their Parish and named it South Lisburn Community Church (SLCC). A small team led by Pete, Donna, Jayne and Steve started the church and since then we have grown a welcoming, intergenerational worshipping community of people from different backgrounds.
Along with Lisburn Cathedral, Pioneer Ministry within the Church of Ireland provide support to SLCC as we aim to connect people to Jesus and grow together in faith. You can watch the video explaining a bit more about that.
Our vision
Belong. Believe. Be Transformed.
A community of ordinary people following an extrordinary God, seeking to bring truth, hope and transformation through Christ’s love, kindness and compassion to the Hillhall area of Lisburn.
We want to see people find community, encounter Jesus and have him powerfully impact their lives as they follow him. We look to provide a space where people feel like they can belong, believe, be transformed and invite others along on the journey.
We love to see people come to faith and grow in faith, and we want to see all at South Lisburn Community Church, of every age and stage, going deeper with the Lord.
What we believe
As a member of the worldwide Anglican communion we believe in and adhere to the Nicene Creed and Apostles Creed.
We also affirm the Evangelical Alliance basis of faith.
